PICTURING WORDS, WRITING PICTURES
My presentations focus on the amazing things that happen when you put words and pictures together. I'll talk about the words and pictures I've created in books like D is for Doodle and How to Win Friends and Influence Creatures. Students will visualize, verbalize, make pictures out of letters and stories out of pictures. Sometimes the kids will turn themselves into pictures --- plus everybody will receive a magic tool for making words and pictures that fly.

PICTURE A POEM IN YOUR POCKET
Celebrate Poetry Month or Poem-in-Your-Pocket Day or poetry every day! In this program we'll look at the words of poets such as Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes, and Jack Prelutsky found in More Pocket Poems. Then we'll see where their and our imaginations take us as we recite, remember and remake poems of our own.
